Purgatory Audiobook (almost) live + Book 3 Progress + Blizzard Survival

The Audiobook is . . . sort of finished.

The AI audiobook for Purgatory of the Ancients is completed! But I am having some dramas uploading it. Its a bit of nuisance trying to get it in one file with all the chapter names in there so you can navigate it easily. I've managed to do all the parts separately but when I try to do it together I get nothing but mayhem.

So I'll send out a link to the audiobook in the next newsletter. Because at the moment, the IT is getting the better of me.

Book 3 update

One beta reader has gotten passed the 700 page mark of Book 3 and provided a lot of constructive feedback—like, a lot. Luckily, they really enjoyed the story and most of what they mentioned is easily fixed. I'm still waiting for my other main beta reader to get back to me, but with the birth of their second child, I'm not rushing them.

I've tentatively booked my editor for May.

As for the cover, turns out the artist is super busy. I'm hoping he can squeeze me in around the same time, but I may need to find a new cover designer which is a bummer cause I love his work.

Gladiator update:

As for the gladiator novel, I'm almost halfway through edits. At this rate, it should be ready for beta readers by the end of this month. It's exciting working on a different magic system with a character who's a lot more cool-headed than Ardan—almost disturbingly so at times. Plus, working with Roman-style themes instead of medieval feels refreshing after living in Ardan's world for so long!

TikTok Update:

I've taken the plunge with tiktok. I'm posting everyday for 100 days. What you might ask? Damn good question. Still very much in the research and development stage, but if you're interested in behind the scenes, forays into AI art, nostalgia about books you've already read and sneak peaks you should check it out.

Personal Update

We survived the blizzard of Texas! My German Shepherd absolutely loved it, and the little dude had a great time too (Pretty cute video of the two playing in my tiktok). Playing with snow is something that's pretty hard to find back in Australia, and while I didn't expect to see it in Texas, it was pretty awesome.

And it's my wife's birthday, so need to finish this off before she wakes up.

Until next time

Stay awesome, Stew
